Splash Page from SPIDER-MAN SEASON ONEJust finished inking this job over the weekend— SPIDER-MAN: SEASON ONE, written by Cullen Bunn (the wordsmith behind the horror/western The 6th Gun— one of my very favorite comics right now— pencilled by the amazingly talented Neil Edwards, and inked by me. It was originally going to be a 5-issue mini-series, but at some point Marvel decided to put it out as a 100-page graphic novel instead. It’s a winner on every level. Not only does Cullen write a great Spidey and Peter and Jonah and— most importantly— Uncle Ben, but you see the art here? There are 99 more pages just as jaw-droppingly beautiful in the book. I take no credit for anything— all I did was try to not screw up Neil’s pencils. I think I succeeded, mostly. It’s a project I’m extremely proud to be a small part of. Don’t miss it when it comes out, some time in April if I’m not mistaken. You won’t be sorry.

And I’m happy to say it looks like I’ll get to not-screw-up Neil’s pencils again. I’m about to start inking an issue of X-Factor that he drew. I do believe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship…
